If you have recently applied for a family residence visa, employment visa, investor visa, or tourist visa and want to know its current status, you can easily check it online.
Information You Will Need
No matter which type of visa you applied for, you will receive an application number and a transaction number at the time of submission. These are essential for tracking your visa status.
How to Track a Visa Application
Before you check your visa status, it is important to identify the correct authority that manages visa processing in your emirate.
In Dubai, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs Dubai (GDRFA) handles entry permits and residence visa inquiries. Its jurisdiction includes mainland Dubai and free zones such as Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority (JAFZA), Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC), Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), and Dubai Internet City.
For all other emirates, the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) handles application tracking. Its jurisdiction includes free zone visas issued under Sharjah Airport International Free Zone Authority (SAIF Zone), Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ), and twofour54 in Abu Dhabi.
If Your Visa Was Issued in Dubai
You can check the status of your visa application on the GDRFA website.
Visit the GDRFA status inquiry page. Enter your application number, transaction number, and the payment date for the visa. Complete the human user verification and select Search. You will then see whether your application is still being processed or if your visa has been issued.
If your application has been approved, the GDRFA allows you to download the entry permit as a PDF file. You will need to print the permit before traveling and bring it with you, as airlines will require it for boarding verification.
You can also use the DubaiNow smartphone app to track your visa application. Download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Open the app, go to the Services section, and tap Residency. Tap Check Visa Status, then enter your application number, transaction number, and payment date. Click Submit to see your status.
If you need further assistance, you can contact the GDRFA on their toll free number. The contact center is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
If Your Visa Was Issued in Other Emirates
For Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, and Fujairah, you can check your visa status on the ICP website.
Visit the ICP application tracking page. Enter your request number, which is your application number, and complete the human user verification. Select Search, and you will receive an update on your visa status.
